February Glasgow Tech Startup Meetup - Monday 2nd February

After taking January off, the RookieOven Glasgow tech meetup is back on Monday 2nd February at The Raven from 6:30pm.

If you've not been before, the meetup is a simple concept. It's an informal get-together for anyone involved in or interested in Scotland's tech scene. Founders, developers, designers, folk thinking about getting into tech - everyone is welcome. There are no tickets, no sign-ups, and no cost. Just turn up.

No egos, just peers

There are no talks. No pitches. No one trying to sell you anything.

It's just a group of people in tech grabbing a drink and having honest conversations. People share what they're working on, ask for advice, swap stories about the things that are going well and the things that aren't. Some folk have been coming for years, others are brand new. It doesn't matter - the whole point is that we're peers helping each other out.

That's what makes RookieOven different from a lot of tech events. It's not a networking event in the cringey, business-card-swapping sense. It's more like going to the pub with people who genuinely understand what you're going through.

First time coming along?

If this is your first time, here's what to expect.

You'll walk into The Raven on Renfield Street in Glasgow city centre and find a group of friendly people chatting over drinks. There's no formal structure, so you don't need to prepare anything or worry about being put on the spot. Just introduce yourself to whoever's nearby and join in.

People tend to talk about what they're building, what challenges they're facing, what's happening in the Scottish tech community, or sometimes nothing to do with tech at all. It's genuinely relaxed.
