Scottish Tech - Who's Hiring?

A great resource on the Hacker News community is the monthly ‘Who’s Hiring’ thread where startups can promote openings. I figured it would be useful to do something similar for Scotland so I sent a tweet out a few days ago asking who in the Scottish tech community is hiring. The response was great and highlighted a variety of openings across the country working on some really interesting products in businesses of various sizes (some young, some mature). So here goes:
Float App – Edinburgh
Float has been in development for over 2 years and has a growing (paying) customer base. Float are looking to hire two developers and rather than having a long list of platform experience they’re looking for developers that are committed to their craft, to continuously honing their skills, and possessing a willingness to learn.
float are based in the Edinburgh TechCube which offers a host of benefits such as a microbrewery and a plethora of other great minds such as Neo, FanDuel and PlanForCloud.
STV – Glasgow
One of Scotland’s most visited websites; STV are looking for both front end and back end talent. For the front end STV are looking for people with a passion for user-focused, standards-based world-class development. While for the back end role STV primiraly use PHP and MySQL using a MVC frameworks such as CodeIgniter and Zend.
Current products include the STV Player, the highly regarded TV catch-up service; stv.tv, offering the best of Scottish content to mass audiences; and STV Local. STV services are also delivered on a variety of platforms such as iOS and Android devices, YouTube, PS3, Windows 8 and Smart TVs
Mallzee – Edinburgh
Mallzee are looking for a variety of talent in areas such as design and development as well as marketing. Mallzee offers bespoke personal shopping to it’s users and a social setting to shop online.
Mallzee are keen to hire developers with strong web development skills, particularly in regards to Javascript (Angular and NodeJS).
itison – Glasgow
Glasgow based daily deals site itison is currently looking for a talented, experienced digital designer to lead all aspects of design for itison.
itison are looking for a candidate who will help lead projects such as new online products & services, full-scale redesigns and iterative enhancements to every aspect of the site. They will also be responsible for overseeing offline design requirements, from training documents to billboard posters.
xDesign365 – Edinburgh
xDesign365 is looking for fun, motivated and talented people to join an ever growing team. Based in Edinburgh, xDesign365 are looking for web, iOS and Android developers as well as UI/UX designers. xDesign365 have previously designed both the Swarmly iOS and Android apps among others.
