Shell LiveWIRE is one of the UK’s longest running youth enterprise schemes, established in 1982. One of the current schemes is the Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award. Offering a chance to win £1,000 cash, PR and kudos for entrepreneurs aged 16-30, based in the UK who have been running a business for less than 12 months. Each month entrants are shortlisted to 10 finalists; of the 10 shortlisted businesses 4 will receive £1,000.
Glasgow based* *Eventhread is one of the current batch of finalists. Eventhread is a new location-based event and venue discovery platform for web and mobile devices. Eventhread mash up live event data from different ticket vendors and event listing websites and make it really easy for people to find events nearby wherever they are in the UK. You can vote for Eventhread any time before the 31st of August. Winning a Grand Ideas Award automatically enters the startup into the £10,000 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in November 2012.
Looks like a good opportunity for Eventhread, be good to see the Scottish community get behind them and make sure they win.
