2014 had been a big year for me personally (thinking of posting a ‘Year in Review’ type post in the next few weeks) and I know a lot has been happening across the Scottish tech community in 2014. Raising money, exits and lots of new products launching. What’s going on in December to bring it all to a close?

Glasgow Tech Christmas Party

Folks behind Refresh, TechMeetup, RookieOven and a few of the local user groups are putting their heads together to bring Glasgow tech together for a Christmas do. Nothing too fancy; some booze, some food and a bunch of good people. Taking place in The Raven on Renfield Street and starting at 7.30.

Tickets are £10 to cover the cost of food and at least one drink.

Scottish Startups Christmas Party Edinburgh

Running once again, the huge Edinburgh do it well worth attending. The event will be at the Mash House, Hasties Close, 37 Guthrie Street (in the cowgate of Edinburgh) and doors will open at 6.30pm. The party promises to finish in the wee hours of the morning.

Tickets are tiered, with super early bird starting at £30 (final ticket will be £50).

YourTaximeter Product Launch

2014 has managed to squeeze in one final product launch. Edinburgh startup YourTaxiMeter are launching as a means for taxi companies across the country to take bookings. The team are excited to show off 5 months of hard work and have an open invite for the tech community to join them.
